1BN SNCOs HOLD ‘22 DINNER/DANCE

The Commanding Officer (CO), 1 Infantry Battalion (1Bn) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Dominic Ampomah, has extolled the cooperation and efficiency of his Battalion’s Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) his leadership enjoyed, in spite of the administrative and logistical challenges the Unit encountered in the year 2022.

Col Ampomah, backed by his Second-In-Command – Major Philip Owusu Amanfoh, was the Guest-of-Honour at the Unit’s 2022 SNCOs Dinner which was held at the Yogtiba Grushie Mess, Michel Camp, on Friday 20 January 2023, where Magajias joined their spouses and Friends of 1Bn to wine and dine.

Speaking to his charges, the CO described the Mess as the most active in the Unit, and expressed his delight at the SNCOs ability to put together a well-planned and excellent Mess Dinner as part of 2022 end of year activities for the Unit, even though various Messes were given the opportunity to plan for Mess Activities.

“As your Commanding Officer, I cannot be more proud than I am today. I admit from the depth of my heart that I have enjoyed unalloyed and possibly unprecedented loyalty and support from every member of this Unit, most especially, from you the Senior Non-Commissioned Cfficers of this Unit. Every single success that the Unit have chalked since I assumed command, is linked to your co-operation, loyalty and support to command, and for this I am very grateful” Lt Col Ampomah said.

The CO directed the Unit to undertake 3-day fasting and prayers with spiritual exercises from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 January 2023, for the Almighty God to protect and cleanse the Battalion of any unforeseen pre-mature deaths and calamities.

The Unit Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) – Senior Warrant Officer Class II Kingsley Ebow Koomson, used the opportunity to urge all SNCOs, to do even better, in rallying behind the CO and his Command to ensure that right things are done at the right time, to move the Ready-and-Willing fraternity forward.

Officers, Priests, Retired Unit RSMs, Defence Civilian Staff and Friends of the Unit were present for merry making as the Unit band – Hot Barrels Band, provided music for entertainment.
