The 3 Infantry Battalion (3Bn) of the Ghana Army, under the auspices of Headquarters Central Command (C/COMD), has conducted a three-day field training exercise code-named “EX FLAMING SPEARS”, in collaboration with some sister security agencies, to provide the platform for the services to share, learn and synchronise tactics, techniques and procedures relevant to joint operation.
The 3-day exercise took place between Monday, 6 November and Wednesday, 8 November 2023,
at three District Assemblies namely; the Ahafo Kenyasi, Dormaa Ahenkro and Wenchi Districts in the Bono Region.

During the exercise, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) C/COMD – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Charles Agyemang-Prempeh, commended all the security services for their skill and show of interest throughout the training.
He charged them to reflect on what they had learnt, in order to discharge their duties well, indicating that threats such as terrorism in the sub-region calls for the collaboration of all, and that security personnel should continuously work on their physical fitness, drills, mental stability and strength, to stay focused.
At the exercise, aspects of Infantry-Armoured cooperation were practised, at the Ahafo Kenyasi New-Mount Ghana mining premises, Crowd Control Drills were conducted, at Dormaa Ahenkro District, a Cordon and Search exercise was conducted, and at Wenchi District, a Raid exercise was conducted.

As part of the exercise, medical screening examinations were conducted at Duasidan and Amikrom in Dormaa Central and Wenchi Districts, where indigenes were screened for breast cancer, blood pressure checks and malaria, with medical products distributed to recipients of the medical outreach.
