4 GARRISON OBSERVES 79 REMEMBRANCE DAY

The 4 Garrison of the Ghana Armed Forces has marked the 79 Remembrance Day with a solemn Service at the Cenotaph.

Personnel of the Garrison and other security services participated in the Service which was held at the Cenotaph in Adum, Kumasi, on Monday 11 November, 2024.

The ceremony featured significant moments such as wreath laying, the sounding of the Last Post, and prayers conducted by the 4 Garrison Chaplaincy, as Ex Sergeant Osei Kwadwo – an old veteran – read the Binyon Verses.

The General Officer Commanding, Central Command (C/COMD) – Brigadier General Michael Kwadwo Opoku, laid a wreath on behalf of the Security Services, while Mr Samuel Pyne – the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer, who represented the Ashanti Regional Minister, laid another on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana.

Additionally, Ex Warrant Officer Class I Appiah George – Chairman of the Regional Veterans Administration (VAG), laid a wreath in honor of fallen soldiers, while a representative of the Asantehene – Mr Frank Duodo, and the Ashanti Regional Director, National Disaster Management Organization, laid theirs for the chiefs and people of the region.
