6 GARRISON HOLDS OFFICERS’ PROMEX PREPS CADRE

Ghana Armed Forces’ (GAF) 6 Garrison has organised a two-week Officers’ Promotion Cadre with lectures, discussions and written exercises, to revise thirty-two (32) Officers/candidates on all aspects of GAF’s Promotion Examination (PROMEX) Syllabus, and prepare them adequately for the examination.

The Cadre which commenced on Monday 20 March, 2023, at 6 Infantry Battalion, Kamina Barracks, Tamale, had the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Matthew Kweku Essien, as the Guest-of-Honour.

Brig Gen M Essien noted that the Officers’ Promotion Examination is crucial to building the professional career of the Officer, and thus challenged the candidates to use the preparations towards the examination and the examination itself as an opportunity to shape their career, and further urged them to read extensively to expand their horizon on domestic and international security issues.

The 32 candidates who will sit for the 2023 Officers’ Promotion Examination, comprise of Officers from 6 Infantry Battalion, 10 Mechanized Battalion, 11 Mechanized Battalion, 69 Airborne Force and Air Force Base Tamale, and are being prepared in Military Law, Military History, Current Affairs, Tactics and Administration and Morale, with the cadre concluding with a 3-day Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT).
