7 GARRISON OBSERVES THE 79TH REMEMBRANCE DAY

The Security Services in the Volta Region commemorated the 79th Remembrance Day with a solemn ceremony to honor the sacrifices of the fallen heroes who lost their lives during the World Wars I, II and other conflicts around the world.

The ceremony was held on Monday 11 November 2024 at the Golden Jubilee Park in Ho, and was also climaxed with wreath laying.

The Volta Regional Minister – Dr Archibald Yao Letsa laid the first wreath on behalf of the President and the People of Ghana; Flag Officer Commanding, Naval Training Command, and 7 Garrison Commander – Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, laid one on behalf of the Security Services;

Torgbe Abutia Kodzo Gidi laid another on behalf of the Chiefs and People of the Volta Region, while Ex Warrant Officer Class One (WOI) Amegbor Kofi – Regional Chairman of the Veterans Administration Ghana, laid the final wreath on behalf of Veterans of World Wars I and II.

Among the dignitaries present were Major General (Maj Gen) Henry Kwami Anyidoho (Rtd); Maj Gen Carl (Modey Rtd); the Commanding Officer (CO), 66 Artillery Regiment – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jalali Din Ibrahim; CO, Artillery Training School – Lt Col Patrick Atuiri; CO, Supply Application School – Commander Andy Klodzi; General Standard Officer Grade 1 (GSO1), 16 Artillery Brigade – Lt Col Felix Opoku; and World War II Veteran – Ex Private Amegadzie Godfred.
