The Assistant Commandant (ASCOM), Junior Division, Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College Junior Division (GAFCSC) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Barimah Brako Owusu has transferred Command and responsibilities to Brig Gen Kwasi Ayima.
The colorful handing and taking over ceremony took place on Thursday, 15 May 2025 at the GAFCSC Ankrah Hall, Otu Barracks, Teshie, Accra.
In his farewell speech, Brig Gen BB Owusu, clocking 35 years of military service and retiring, pledged his commitment and continued support to the military college and to his successor, trusting that the Division would reach greater heights under the new leadership.
He urged students to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity and excellence, emphasizing that the knowledge and skills acquired at the College would not only shape their careers, but also strengthen the military institution.
In his remarks, the outgoing Commandant, GAFCSC – Major General (Maj Gen) Matthew Kweku Essien lauded the outgoing Junior Division ASCOM for his dedication, exemplary service and leadership, noting that his contributions had significantly enhanced the operational effectiveness, and academic standards of the Division.
General Essien congratulated the new ASCOM on his appointment, expressing confidence in his abilities to bring up fresh perspectives, uphold the values of discipline and excellence, in the continuation of a legacy of leadership and service.
