The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Rear Admiral (R/Adm) Issah Adam Yakubu, has commissioned the Ghana Navy (GN) Lodge made up of 9-bedroom suite and four 3-bedroom houses located at Beach road, Takoradi.
In his speech on the commissioning day on Thursday 18 April 2024, the CNS expressed excitement at the completion of the lodge, and stated that the commissioning was not just a physical addition to infrastructure, but also a significant step forward in the commitment to providing the best facilities for GN personnel.

Admiral Yakubu furthered that through the collective efforts of the Navy, more families would have befitting abode to enjoy the peace of mind needed to conduct the arduous task of protecting the nation.
The CNS asserted also that GN stands on the core pillars of loyalty, devotion and excellence, and that the new accommodation symbolises the Command’s devotion in ensuring the well-being and comfort of personnel and families, who tirelessly served Ghana’s interest.
Underscoring GN’s Agenda 2024 within which the Command commits to ensuring that personnel’s accommodation challenges are mitigated, R/Adm Yakubu revealed that the Headquarters was in the process of acquiring another property similar to the one at Sekondi West Ridge, to supplement Officers’ accommodation.

Like the Navy Guest House at Winneba, Central Region, GN’s newly outdoored lodge in Takoradi, is opened to the general public for patronage, for all kinds of social events, with secured environment, serene atmosphere, and top-notch professional service, with military precision, at a modest fee.
Ghana’s Navy, in an effort to complement efforts of the Ministry for Defence to provide for it, has outlined several projects that are near completion, such as the rehabilitation of the Single Quarters at Caprice, Kweikuma, Takoradi; and the Regulating Office at the Naval Base, Sekondi, among many others.

In his welcome address, Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) – Western Naval Command (WNC) – Commodore (Cdre) Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo attributed the success of the construction project to the excellent leadership of R/Adm IA Yakubu, commending the CNS’ efforts to prioritise accommodation and infrastructure provision for GN personnel across the country.
The Contractor of the project – Mr Amoo Siriboe expressed his gratitude to the entire Navy and donated a flat screen television to be used in the Lodge.
