A delegation from AngloGold Ashanti, led by the Managing Director of the Obuasi Mine – Mr. Samuel Boakye Pobee, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Major General (Maj Gen) William Agyapong, on Thursday, 17 April, 2025, at the General Headquarters.
In his remarks, Mr. Pobee congratulated Maj Gen Agyapong on his appointment and expressed appreciation for the security provided by the GAF to AngloGold Ashanti’s operations.
Mr. Pobee also called for deepened collaboration between GAF and AngloGold Ashanti for mutual benefit.
Maj Gen Agyapong welcomed the delegation and thanked them for their visit, and acknowledged the support AngloGold Ashanti has provided to GAF, particularly in the area of accommodation.
He emphasized GAF’s continuous role in protecting and supporting AngloGold Ashanti’s operations.
