A delegation from the Armed Forces Children Association (AFCA) – also known as SOJABA – led by its Vice President – Mr Peter Nawurah, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – General (Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah to congratulate him on his promotion to a four-star General.
The visit on Thursday, 6 February 2025 at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra, was to also discuss operational matters related to the association.
Mr Nawura emphasized the need for a secretariat to administer members and facilitate smooth operations of the association.
General Oppong-Peprah expressed gratitude for the visit and praised the association for its mandate to instill discipline and moral etiquette in children of military personnel.
He assured the delegation of his support in acquiring an office for the association’s operations.
He also hoped the association would help in instilling future employable skills and hobbies in the children, so parents can have the peace of mind to serve God and the country well.
