In line with best practices, the leadership of Ghana Army’s Combat Training School (ACTS), has introduced into its curricular, Societal/Industrial Leaders Mentorship Sessions, to enhance the students’ leadership skills, interpersonal relations, and social networking.

On Wednesday 5 February 2025, ACTS, commencing its Young Officers Course for 2025 (YOC 1-25), had a course patron – Mr Bernard Kwaku Sackitey, who is a Health and Safety Superintendent at ENI Ghana Explorations and Production Limited; and the President, Worldwide Evangelism Service (a non-denominational outreach ministry), interact with the Students.

Mr BK Sackitey delivered a keynote presentation on “Leadership and Mentorship” to the students, where he shared practical experiences on life trajectory to self-sustainment and societal leadership.

Mr Sackitey – who apart from being a patron to the school, agreed to serve as Ambassador and Development Partner to help attract social support for the school – later toured the school’s ongoing project sites, and thereafter provided support to initiate solutions to some challenges of ACTS.

ACTS has commenced its first semester courses with Combat Team Commanders Course (CTCC 1 – 25), YOC 1 -25, Advanced Non-Commissioned Tactical Course (ANTC 1 – 25), whiles Advanced Courses for Mortar, All Infantry Platoon Weapons, Machine Gun and Drill and Duties, would assemble within the period.

The school’s novel leadership and mentorship interactive class is reserved for retired Generals, Senior Officers, sponsors, friends and patrons with modeled emulative personalities and high morals, to engage the Students (Officers and Soldiers).

ACTS is one of the Ghana Armed Forces’ institutions of learning designated to train personnel within the framework of security arts and science, to maintain/restore law and order, running 6 courses concurrently within a semester, with capacity to train over 350 serving personnel.

Present at the keynote presentation was the Commander ACTS – Colonel Robert Narh, who extensively took part in the interactive session, and made contributions. The Acting Chief Instructor – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Martin Dziedzorm Dey, and the Course Commander – Lt Col Joshua Adongo, were all present to make the maiden interactive session a success.
