ARMY RECRUIT SCH RECEIVES NEW LAPTOPS FROM GIFEC

Ghana Army’s Recruit Training School (ARTS), Shai-Hills, has received twenty (20) new HP laptops and accessories from the Ghana Invest Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) worth One Hundred and Thirty-Nine Cedis (Gh¢139,980), to enhance teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the military school.

Presenting the items on Tuesday 15 April 2025, the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), GIFEC – Dr Sofo Tanko Rashid Computer, said the initiative reflects the setup’s commitment to bridging the digital divide across the country.

The CEO who announced plans for GIFEC to follow up with additional desktop computers to ARTS soon to properly equip the school, expressed his institution’s intention of deepening collaboration with Ghana’s military, through support.

The Commanding Officer (CO), ARTS – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Ambitious Nazzar, expressed appreciation to GIFEC for the swift response to an earlier request made to them, and assured of realizing his ambitions of well equipping military personnel for the good of the Ghana Army, and to safeguard Ghana’s security.

With hopes of further expanding the affinity between the two institutions, the CO particularly pledged that the items would go a long way to enhance the current drift in education through virtual lessons, to serve many more recruits who pass through ARTS.

Present at the donation ceremony included Mrs Francisca Adjei – Director, Corporate Affairs, GIFEC; Mr Frederick Kofi Aidoo – Head, Corporate Affairs; Ruth Azantilow – Senior Manager; and Staff of ARTS.
