ATRAC GRADUATES 20 SNR OFFICERS AFTER BATTALION COMMANDERS’ CSE

The Ghana Army Training Command (ATRAC) has graduated twenty (20) Senior Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) who have been through ten weeks of the Battalion Commanders’ Course and were trained on Command and leadership skills, to enable them take up possible command appointments or as Staff Officers in the future.

The much-esteemed course, whose 20 participants entailed eighteen Army, one Navy, one Air Force, with three female Senior Officers, had its closing ceremony on Friday 16 December, 2022, at the Army Combat Training School (ACTS) of ATRAC, Whistler Barracks, Teshie Ridge, with the Guest-of-Honour being Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Charles Agyemang-Prempeh – Chief Staff Officer, Army Headquarters, who represented Major General (Maj Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah – the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS).

Some of the lessons the participants were apprised of included leadership and management. As part of the curriculum of the course, the cohort embarked on a study tour of the Upper East Region of Ghana, and at the end of the course, the following were awarded by order of merit – 1st was Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Atuiri, 2nd was Lt Col Faustina Dennison, and 3rd being Lt Col Derry.

Earlier on in the duration of the Course, on Thursday, 8 December 2022, Maj Gen T Oppong-Peprah visited and interacted with the Officer-students, and was conducted round the Command by the Commander, ATRAC – Brig Gen KD Hagan.

The COAS was accompanied on his tour by the Deputy Chief Staff Officer in-charge of Policy and Plans (DCSO P & P) – Brig Gen CK Lithur, DCS0 Logistics – Brig Gen KKK Kumi, the Chief G2, Intelligence – Colonel (Col) Isaac Amponsah and the Chief G3, Operations – Col William Nii Nortey.
