As part of activities outlined for the celebration of the Samanpid festival, troops of Joint Task Force (JTF) and 11 Mechanized Battalion (Soccer Team) played a football match with the youth of Binduri, as a means to let the youth understand and appreciate peace for socio-economic development.
Addressing the youth of Binduri after the match on Monday, 25 December 2023, the Commander OPERATION MAIDA BUURI (JTF Bawku) – Colonel (Col) Appah Yaw Owusu, in an address stressed that, the unity displayed is the kind of normal life he envisages for Bawku and everywhere else in Ghana, admonishing that, much depended on the preparedness and willingness of the youth.

Col Owusu noted that, it was only through such efforts that they could develop their God-given talents, and commended the organizers for their commitment and dedication in organizing the event, expressing his hope that the success of the game would be replicated before, during and after the Samanpid festival. He also urged the youth to embrace peace as a catalyst for socio-economic development.
The youth, in response, expressed appreciation to the Commander and troops for availing themselves by honouring the invitation, and pledged to do everything possible for peace to return to Bawku and its environs.
