Basic Infantry Training Course (BITC) 1-2023 of the Second Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT 2) serving with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) has celebrated their 21st Anniversary of service with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
Prior to the celebration, on Wednesday 1 November, 2023, representatives of the intake serving with UNISFA GHANBATT 2, paid a courtesy call at the Accra residence of Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Musah Whajah (Rtd), who was their Commanding Officer (CO) at the Army Recruit Training School (ARTS), and presented a citation to honour him for his support and exemplary leadership, during the period of their training.
Brig Gen Musah Whajah (Rtd), upon receiving the citation, expressed his gratitude to the Intake for the kind gesture and extended his goodwill message to personnel of the Intake serving with UNISFA GHANBATT 2.
The celebration was climaxed, with a get-together at UNISFA GHANBATT Headquarters, Athony Company Operating Base, on Thursday 11 January 2024, where the CO, UNISFA GHANBATT 2 – Lieutenant Colonel Edward Sarpong Appiah, congratulated the Intake for their service with the colours, and appreciated their dedication to work, as well as their sacrifices made in achieving the mandate of UNISFA GHANBATT 2.
