Soldiers of the Ghana Army Basic Infantry Training Course (BITC) 1/2004 have donated assorted items worth ten thousand Ghana cedis to the Tamale Children’s Home in Nyohini, Tamale on Friday, 10 January 2025.
The gesture, themed “Love Without Boundary,” formed part of activities marking the 21st anniversary of their graduation. Items donated included toiletries, food items, drinks, and a cash amount.

Speaking at the ceremony, WOI Amoah Francis emphasised that their celebration is a reminder of the importance of giving and making a positive impact on the lives of others. He expressed the group’s commitment to giving back to society, especially to vulnerable groups such as children.
He stated that the donation symbolizes their appreciation for the values instilled in them during their training. “We are proud to celebrate 21 years of service by extending a hand of support to these children. It is our way of making a meaningful contribution to the community that has supported us throughout our journey,” he said.

The manager of the Tamale Children’s Home, Madam Saratu Sulemana, expressed profound gratitude for the support and noted that the items would go a long way in addressing the needs of the children. She also highlighted some of the challenges they face, including funding constraints and the need for more resources to cater to the growing number of children.
The group as part of its commitment to social responsibility made a similar donation to a children’s home in Accra during their 20th. anniversary celebration, which was climaxed with a Christian Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 12 January 2025, at the Kamina Methodist Presbyterian Church.
