BRIG GEN AGYEMANG-PREMPEH BOWS OUT AS GOC C/COMD

Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Charles Agyemang-Prempeh has handed over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command to Brig Gen Michael Opoku in a short ceremony held at the Command Headquarters.

Brig Gen Charles Agyemang-Prempeh takes up a new appointment as the Commandant of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA).

At the beginning of the ceremony on Thursday 28 March 2024, Brig Gen Agyemang-Prempeh inspected a Guard of Honour mounted in his honour. This was followed by the signing of handing and taking over certificate in the office of the General Officer Commanding.

Later on, Brig Gen Agyemang-Prempeh handed over the Unit Flag to Brig Gen Opoku, signifying transfer of authority to the new GOC.

Brig Gen Charles Agyemang-Prempeh in his remarks, thanked the Staff Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff for their support that enabled him steer the affairs of the Command.

He urged them to extend the same level of cooperation to the new GOC adding that they should be professional at all times in discharging their duties, to ensure the advancement of the Command and the Ghana Army at large.

He entreated the new GOC to seek the face of God in all his endeavors and also assured him of his availability to offer any assistance, and also expressed confidence in the ability of the new GOC to succeed in his duties.
