Cadets of Regular Career Course (RCC) 63 of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) paid a 1-day familiarization visit to the 66 Artillery Regiment (66 Arty Regt) in Ho, Volta Region to introduce the cadets to the operations of the Regiment as well as educate them on the artillery prowess of the Ghana Armed Forces.
In an opening address on Friday 14 June 2024, by the Commander Rear (Comd/R) of the 66 Arty Regt – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jalali Din Ibrahim, he welcomed the cadets warmly and indicated that he was glad to have the cadets visit the Regiment.

He stated further that the cadets will be taken through lectures and demonstrations which will help enlighten them further on the organization and role of the Regiment, and concluded by admonishing them to pay rapt attention to all the lectures and demonstrations they will be privileged to have during the visit since it will go a long way to help them with their military studies.
As part of the visit, the cadets were taken through lectures on the history as well as the organization and role of the Regiment, and were also enlightened on the operations, functions and the weapon system of the Regiment.

The cadets equally had the opportunity to have some of the weapons displayed for them to see where there was extensive lecture on some weapons such as 105mm and 122mm Howitzers, 122mm MRL Mantruck, 107mm and 122mm MRLS among others, and also witnessed demonstrations on the appointments and responsibilities of Gunners when it comes to loading and firing the 122mm Howitzer and 122mm MRL.
The cadets were excited about the visit with Senior Cadet Priscilla Naa Koi Quartey expressing her profound gratitude to the Comd/R and the entire Regiment for hosting them and giving them such insightful education into what the 66 Artillery Regiment is about.

The visit made other cadets expressed how motivated they were and wished to be posted to the Regiment on commission in order to be part of the glorious and prestigious Gunners family.
