CDS GAF PLEDGES LOGISTICS SUPPORT TO GAF SPORTS

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has pledged logistical support to GAF Sports Teams, following their impressive performance at the 2024 Africa Military Games (AMG) in Abuja, Nigeria, which took place from 18 to 30 November 2024.

He made this remark when he met the team at the Burma Hall, Burma Camp, after the AMG ’24 competition, on Wednesday 4 December 2024.

The GAF Sports Team won a total of 40 medals and placed fourth out of 20 participating African Militaries at the games.

The CDS also urged all GAF Units to avail more time for training of personnel in their respective disciplines.

He emphasized that the resources invested by GAF for the teams to participate in the sporting event, demonstrates the importance the Military High Command places on sports development.

The Sports personnel were so elated to have met the CDS, hence thanked him for his exemplary leadership in ensuring that they participated in the games, which had excellent administration in Abuja.
