CDS GAF PLEDGES TO IMPROVE WELFARE OF DEFENCE CIVILIAN STAFF

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, held his maiden Durbar with Defence Civilian Staff (DCS) at Burma Hall in Burma Camp on Tuesday, November 26 2024.

During his speech, Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah emphasized the importance of professionalism and discipline among civilian staff.

He encouraged teamwork, prioritizing personal safety and health through regular exercises and healthy eating.

The CDS also remarked that the Military High Command (MHC) would review outdated policies, and ensure they align with current security and operational trends.

He tasked his appropriate Staff Officers to address salary and promotion discrepancies, as well as accommodation issues that affected DCS.

The DCS responded with enthusiasm and praise for Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah and his Staff Officers, assuring them of their support and wishing them long life to continue with the good works in the military.

Present at the event included the Chief of Staff, General Headquarters – Major General Joseph Prince Osei-Owusu; Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics – Rear Admiral Samuel Agyenim-Boateng; Director General, DCS – Brigadier General Anita Asmah, and her Staff Officers, amongst others.
