The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah joined the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 90 to celebrate Medals Day, in recognition of their hard work and dedication to the UN’s mission in Southern Lebanon.
The event was held on Friday 24 May, 2024 at the Kofi Annan Square featuring 88 troops who received medals for their service.
The Reviewing Officer and Sector West Commander – Brigadier General Enrico Fontana, commended the Battalion for their professionalism, discipline, and perseverance in the face of challenges, including relentless shelling and injuries.
