CHIEF OF BUREAU OF MOROCCO ARMED FORCES CONGRATULATES CDS, GAF

The Chief of Bureau of the Southern Zone, Morocco Armed Forces – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Abdul Karim Najjer has congratulated the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Major General (Maj Gen) William Agyapong on his appointment to the highest office in the GAF on Wednesday 9 April, 2025, at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Burma Camp, Accra.

The visit was also to discuss ways of strengthening the mutual relationship between both Armed Forces focusing on peacekeeping missions.

Brig Gen Najjer praised Ghana on her experience in peace support operations and the country’s expertise in the field.

In his welcome remarks, Maj Gen Agyapong mentioned that, Ghana had made significant strides in peacekeeping, including being the first African country to produce a female Force Commander of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force.

He added that the achievement showcased Ghana’s commitment to peace support operations and her growing influence in regional security matters.

Maj Gen Agyapong also
emphasized on the importance of collaboration in addressing regional security threats.

Present included the Chief of the Army Staff, Ghana Army – Maj Gen Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu; Chief of Staff, GHQ – Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai; and Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration and Personnel – AVM Felix Adom Asante.
