The Chief of Choggu – Mahamudu Alhassan, paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command (N/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Franklyn Worlanyo Agbebo, to officially welcome the General to Tamale, following his assumption of office.
The Chief, on Wednesday 27 August 2025, commended the military for its efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the region, expressed appreciation on behalf of the traditional authorities, and called for enhanced collaboration between the military and traditional leaders, to consolidate the prevailing peace and unity.
In his response, the GOC expressed gratitude to the Chief and his entourage for the visit, and the show of support, assuring the Chief of Chogu of the military’s continued commitment to safeguarding peace and security in the Region.
Brig Gen Agbebo, however, expressed concern over the spate of violent incidents in parts of the Command’s area of operational responsibilities, and appealed to the Chogu Naa to use his influence to encourage his subjects, particularly the youth, to resort to dialogue in resolving disputes, rather than violence.
