Ghana Army’s 153 Armoured Regiment (153 Armd Regt) has formally inducted into office its Commanding Officer (CO) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) David Korsah, having taken over command of the Regiment about three (3) months ago.
Speaking as the Guest of Honour at the Induction Service, the Commander, 15 Armoured Brigade (15 Armd Bde) – Brigadier General Ben Gah, on Sunday 24 December, 2024, at the Arakan Methodist Presbyterian Church, Burma Camp, Accra, said the Service is of divine meaning and thus very important in the life of everyone appointed as a leader.
He cited his first contact with Lt Col Korsah as a Cadet at the Ghana Military Academy, when he was an Instructor, and then when the former was the CO at the Regiment and Lt Col Korsah was Officer Commanding at the Regiment, and acclaimed his competencies and discipline, to lead the 153 Armd Regt.
General Gah asked for blessings and directions of God Almighty for the CO, and charged the Unit’s Key Appointment Holders, Officers, Soldiers and Defence Civilian Staff of the Unit, to support the new CO with loyalty, commitment and dedication, put all hands on deck to ensure he succeeds, and to work in one accord, being minded that they have an equal share in his successes or failures as CO.
“As the Brigade Commander, I further entreat all personnel of the 153 Armoured Regiment to be hardworking, disciplined and professional. Any acts of misconduct by a single one of you will go a long way to affect not only the image of the Regiment but also the hard-won reputation of the Armour fraternity”, Brig Gen B Gah said.
Until his appointment as the Commanding Officer of the 153 Armoured Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Korsah commanded the first Ghanaian Combat Team of the Economic Community of West African States Stabilization Support Mission to Guinea-Bissau (ESSMGB), where he was adjudged to have performed excellently.
