The Ghana Army Combat Training School (ACTS) held a Graduation Parade for Sixty-Eight (68) Warrant Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and its equivalent ranks of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and other Security Services, after 12 grueling weeks of the school’s Advanced Drill and Duties Course 1-2025 (ADDC 1-25).
The graduation parade of the course, which is run by the Army Drill and Duties School of ACTS, took place at the ADDICO Parade Square, Whistler Barracks, Teshie, on Friday 1 August 2025.

The aim of ADDC 1-25 was to equip personnel with up to date knowledge in Drill, ability to instruct in Drill; to be able to organize ceremonial parades at all levels; and to broaden the outlook of students on matters of general knowledge in Unit Administration, as well as norms of the military profession.
Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Edward Awaribey – Deputy Commandant, Ghana Military Academy, was the Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer of the parade.
He charged the graduates to keep in mind that drill and discipline are inseparable facets of excellence in their line of work, indicating that precision and discipline instilled through drill, are the bedrock upon which effective leadership has been built over the years.

He urged them to apply the experience, knowledge, and administrative skills acquired on the course, to support their Unit Commanders and Heads of Institutions, to nurture and control the rank and file in their respective Units.
Reminding them that they are the backbone of their respective Services, he charged them to use the skills they have acquired at ACTS to be integral to the success of their various Units and institutions, and to lead with honour and integrity, always upholding the values that define their units and Services.
The course assembled on 11 May 2025 with 68 students, comprising 65 males and 3 females – 41 males, 2 females from Army; 8 males from Navy; 1 male from Air Force; 6 males from Ghana Police Service; 2 from Ghana Prison Service; 4 males from Ghana Immigration Service, and 4 from Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority.

Students who excelled on the course were presented awards which included a Pace-Stick, plaques and military canes:
The ultimate prize – the Chief of the Army Staff’s prize was awarded to Sergeant (Sgt) Ackon Kofi Emmanuel of Base Workshop for emerging as the OVERALL BEST STUDENT on the Course.
Sgt Amoako Richard of 1 Infantry Battalion received the Forces Sergeant Major’s prize for being adjudged the MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT in DRILL.

Sgt Siaw Boateng Kingsley of 37 Military Hospital received the Sergeant Major of the Army’s Award for coming out as the OVERALL SECOND BEST STUDENT on the course.
Warrant Officer Class Two (WOII) Oppong Samuel of Army Combat Training School received both the Drill School Sergeant Major’s Award, and the Army HQ Chief Staff Officer’s Award for emerging as the OVERALL THIRD BEST STUDENT and the BEST STUDENT in UNIT ADMINISTRATION on the course.
Sub Officer Andarra Dorlaar of the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (Fire and Safety Division) was awarded the Commander, Army Training Command’s prize for the BEST ALLIED STUDENT.

Sgt Gyampo Faustina of Headquarters, Army Training Command (ATRAC) was the BEST FEMALE STUDENT and received the Combat Expert One’s (Commander ACTS) prize.
The following were recognized for supporting the Course as Course Patrons: Evangelist Bernard Kwaku Sackitey – ENI Ghana, and President of Worldwide Evangelism Service; Mr Wisdom Butsormekpor – ECG; Mr Razak Abdul Yakubu – Gold Field Ghana Foundation; Mr Nilex Moore of Nilex Company, Osu; Chief Dr Ibrahim Sidibe Mohammed of Sidide Eye Clinic, Weija, Gbawe.

Another set were acknowledged for being Friends of ACTS and supporting to enhance the teaching and learning facilities at the School: Mr and Mrs Asamoah – Desvy School, East Legon Hills; Asafoatse Shrine Anum, Mr Dominic Boateng – Accra; Mr Akwasi Aboagye – Chief Executive Officer, Bayport Savings and Loans.
