The Director, Mission Support (DMS), United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) – Ms Melva Crouch, commissioned a state-of-the-art multipurpose complex for the Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 91 serving with UNIFIL, marking a significant milestone for the Unit.

The complex, which features a conference hall, Tactical Operation Center with accompanying offices, and is designed to provide a range of facilities and services for the Battalion, opened on Monday 16 June 2025.

The commissioning of the complex is a testament to GHANBATT’s dedication to providing excellence and professionally discharging their duties, for which reason the DMS, commended the Commanding Officer, UNIFIL GHANBATT 91 – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Isaac Kobe Boako, for his exemplary leadership and vision, in putting up the edifice.

Lt Col IK Boako expressed fulfilment in the new facility, stating that the multipurpose complex was to replace the already existing structure, which was an 18-year-old prefab unit that exposed troops to danger, during the period of the cross-border conflict escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
