As part of its corporate social responsibility, and to improve infrastructural development of schools within its catchment areas, ECOBANK PLC has cut sod for the renovation works on the 4 Garrison Education Centre School Library.
The sod which was cut on Saturday 19 October 2024 at the forecourt of the school premises, envisages that the library when completed, would be equipped with modern digital Information Communications Technology (ICT) tools, with free internet connectivity free tuition on Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, web development and animation for 6 months.

The 4 Garrison Education Officer – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Robert Laryea Okoley, in his remarks thanked Ecobank PLC for the initiative, and indicated that the library when completed would strengthen the schools’ performance in the field of science and technology, emphasizing that 4 Garrison Education Centre (4GEC) will continue to play a pivotal role in the life of students in the region.
The Zonal Manager, Ashanti Region, ECOBANK PLC – Mr Mike Owusu-Achiaw said the facility is expected enhance the digital literacy of pupils, while investing in the country’s human resources for the fourth industrial revolution.
He explained that in the last three years, ECOBANK has focused on transforming education on the continent with 2024 project emphasizing on digital literacy, as the focus is on AI and foundational learning, with AI having the potential of being harnessed to help improve basic skills in literacy, numeracy and digital literacy to transform education, making it more personalized, accessible and effective than ever.
