ESSMGB GHANCOY 3 DONATES TO ORPHANAGE IN QUELELE-BISSAU

The Ghanaian Combat Team serving with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Stabilization Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau Ghana Company 3 (ESSMGB GHANCOY 3) has donated assorted food items, toiletries, cleaning materials and medical supplies to LAR DE VIDA-BETHEL Orphanage, at Quelele, in Bissau.

The Team, made up of selected members of GHANCOY 3, was led by the Second-In-Command – Major Edward Alotei Thompson, to make the donation on Wednesday 25 December 2024, forms part of series of Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities, to win the hearts and minds of the local populace within Bissau.

The items were presented to the Executive Director of Lar de Vida- Bethel Orphanage – Mrs Francisca Maria de Conceicao, who was in the company of the Administrator, and other staff of the Orphanage.

Pleased with the gesture of solidarity, Mrs Maria de Conceicao expressed her gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Orphanage to the entire ESSMGB, particularly GHANCOY 3, for remembering her children on such an important day.

After the presentation, the Team feted the children and staff with food and drinks to mark the Christmas celebration, after which the children took part in entertainment activities.

The items presented were bags of rice and beans, sugar, gallons of cooking oil, hygiene products, soaps, packs of toilet rolls, biscuits, soft drinks and washing powder, as well as medical supplies.
