EUROPEAN PEACE FACILITY PLEDGES SUPPORT TO GAF

A delegation from the European Peace Facility Post-Adoption Mission Team, led by the European Union  Ambassador to Ghana – His Excellency (HE) Irchad Razaaly has pledged its support  to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in areas of Defence logistics and training.

The Ambassador made this known when Mission Team visited the Chief of the Defense Staff (CDS) of GAF – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, on Tuesday, 4 June  2024, at the General Headquarters in Burma Camp.

H.E Razaaly highlighted the need to engage with Higher Command to gain firsthand information on the operational needs of GAF in order to help in strengthening GAF’s defense capacity in its quest to fight security threats in the region.

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah on his part, briefed the delegation on the current security situation in Ghana, highlighting gains made in combating terrorism and piracy with the assistance of development partners.
