The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has given its main entrance and the Fletcher Mess Anteroom, a new look and commissioned them.

The commissioning of the main gate and the Fletcher Mess Anteroom, took place on Friday 20 December 2024, on the sidelines of the military college’s 82nd Junior Staff Course graduation.

The works on the gate were commenced by the Chief of the Army Staff, Ghana Army Staff (COAS) – Major General (Maj Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, as then Commandant, GAFCSC; and the Fletcher Mess Anteroom new-lookworks were mainly funded by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Ghana Air Force – Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Frederick Kwasi Asare Bekoe.

Giving a background to the works, the Commandant, GAFCSC – Maj Gen Matthew Kweku Essien spoke of how the two Generals of GAF committed resources and efforts into the completion of the two projects.

General Onwona commenced the GAFCSC main gate facelift project during his tenure as Commandant, GAFCSC, but was appointed COAS thus could not see to the end of the project, and his successor – Maj Gen Essien, completed the project.

Of the Fletcher Mess Anteroom, two friends of GAFCSC – Mr Jeffrey Ofusuhene Appenteng – Chief Executive Officer (CEO), De Margo Interior Contractors, and Mr Festus Mawuli Kluvitse – CEO, Geocom Ltd, undertook large portions of the facelift works, whiles the CAS, funded the remainder works of the Mess.

General Essien said Mr Kluvitse tiled the whole area free of charge, whiles Mr Appenteng did some remodeling and interior works, for which reason, their names would forever be etched in the annals of GAFCSC.
