FPR ACQUIRES A 40-BED ACCN FACILITY

The Forces Pay Regiment (FPR) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has constructed for itself a 1-storey 40 bed accommodation facility, to help ease the acute accommodation challenge the Unit is faced with.

The metallic container facility, which was constructed through self-help, was commissioned on Wednesday 14 February 2024, as a Valentine’s Day, and also a parting gift from the Commanding Officer (CO) of the Unit – Colonel (Col) Theophilus Oswald Nii Afotey Laryea – who moves on to another designation in the GAF – to the Unit.

The ground floor of the structure, which is located near the “Power House”, Burma Camp, Accra, is a dormitory-like setting that contains 32 beds, whiles the upper floor is compartmentalized into 8 single rooms.

CO Col Laryea paid tribute to Mr Dodzi – a friend of the Unit – who helped variously to provide the facility, whose labour was provided by staff of the Unit, but for a few artisanal works.
