Barely a fortnight after he took over as Commanding Officer (CO), Forces Pay Regiment (FPR), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) from Colonel (Col) Theophilus Oswald Laryea – who greatly impacted the Unit during his leadership – Col Miki Adusei Nkrumah, has hit the ground running, with the speed of an aircraft, in the continuous development of the FPR.
This came to light when Sun Electronics of HISENSE, donated some electronic appliances to the FPR on Thursday 7 March 2024, as first batch of their Corporate Social Responsibility to FPR, by Madam Hinanet Opoku of HISENSE, on behalf of Alhaji Amadu Yahaya – Chief Executive Officer of Sun Electronics.

Miss Opoku said her organization has made several donations to many Units of GAF to show how strong their relationship with Ghana’s is, and that they are happy to support the execution of the military’s mandate.
Col Nkrumah, in thanking the donor for the gift, told personnel of the Unit that, after assumption of office and a quick assessment of the Unit’s needs, he requested for help from the electronics company, who favourably responded with donation, of which he said all groups of the FPR will receive their portion.

The first batch items present were three (3) 264 large Refrigerators, two (2) 65” QLED 4K Televisions, one (1) Display Fridge, and four (4) 2.5 Horsepower Air-Conditioners.
Since taking over the helm of affairs at FPR, on 22 February 2024, Col MA Nkrumah has helped the Unit acquire the following; purchased 3 new poly-tanks and restored the borehole system; provided cleaning materials (which he assures would be on monthly basis); purchased 3 printers and 6 computers; purchased calculators being distributed to all groups; ongoing refurbishing of Administration block;

Others include the commencement of drinking water supply to various groups (to be done on weekly basis); provision of internet service to the entire unit (which commenced on Thursday 7 Mach 2024); Servicing ongoing to automate the operation of the Unit’s electrical power generator; purchase of one dispatch motor bike; purchase of a new mower; acquisition of an additional duty vehicle from Plans, Research and Development.
