GA SOLDIERS CALL ON COAS, EXPRESS THANKS

by Kofi Ampeah Woode

Following Ghana’s Chief of the Army Staff’s (COAS) visit to personnel of the Ghana Army (GA), seeking healthcare at the 37 Military Hospital (37 Mil Hosp), zeroing in on one who had a rare after-childbirth medical condition, her intake mates of Basic Infantry Training Course 2/2011 (BITC 2/2011), have called on the COAS to present a token of appreciation.

The cohort, represented by a delegation led by the President of the Intake Association – Corporal Tibanye HT, presented a carved image of the COAS – Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah – on a wooden plaque to the Army Commander at his office on Monday 27 March 2023, as expression of their gratitude for the visit to their colleague in distress – Sergeant Sarfo Angela.

The leader of the delegation said they were touched, not only by the COAS’ generous cash donation towards the upkeep of their colleague, but also, his recognition of the little support the association was extending to her.

The COAS’ visibly moved response to the surprise visit and gift was commendation for the association’s gesture of comradeship and love demonstrated towards their mate, stating that the group represented the best of GA in everything that they were doing for their disadvantaged colleague.

Using Sgt Sarfo as a contact to wish all other GA personnel seeking healthcare at all health posts speedy recovery and continuous good health, the COAS encouraged all GAF personnel to continue the supporting spirit and to remain professional at all times.
