The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Central Command (C/COMD) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Michael Opoku has commissioned seventy-two (72) accommodation units, and eight (8) others, at Uaddara and Idris Barracks, respectively.
On Thursday 4 July 2024, the facilities – ensuite two bedrooms, kitchen, toilet and bath – which are part of government’s barracks regeneration project across all Garrisons to provide decent accommodation for personnel and their families, were commissioned.
Brig Gen M Opoku, during the commissioning ceremony, thanked the Government of Ghana for ensuring that personnel are provided with decent accommodation, and charged the occupants to take proper care of the building, to enable successive personnel to also use the facilities in the near future.

Present at the ceremony were Command Operations Officer – Colonel (Col) Henry Ansah-Akrofi; Command Logistics Officer – Col John Frempong-Manso; Acting Commanding Officer (CO) , 4 Infantry Battalion – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Sarfo Kantanka Dapaah; CO, Central Command Camp – Lt Col Theophilus Ofosu-Appiah; CO, 87 Signal Regiment – Lt Col Abena Acheampong, Unit Magajias amongst others.
