GAF CDS CONGRATULATES PREMPEH ROBOTICS CLUB

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, an alumnus of Prempeh College, has congratulated the school’s Robotics Club for winning two trophies at the World Robofest Competition held in Detroit, Michigan, United States of America (USA).

General Oppong-Peprah made the commendations after members of the Robotics Club, led by the Headmaster of the School – Very Reverend Lewis Asare, visited him at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra, on Friday 31 May 2024, to showcase the trophies won.

The team placed First in the World Unknown Mission Challenge, and Second in the World Game Challenge, with a perfect score of 100 percent, respectively.

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah applauded the team for their successes, and for placing Ghana and Africa on the world map of robotics, and encouraged them to explore other areas where technology could be applied, to solve problems in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

He stated, it was time students started competing in science and robotics, to solve problems in their immediate environment, and impacting lives through technology in communities.

Present were Major Generals Joseph Aphour and Daniel Nyarko – Deputy Chiefs of Staff in charge of Operations/Training, and Plans/Policy respectively.
