GAF CDS EXPRESSES COMMITMENT TO UNIFIL GHANBATT TROOPS’ WELFARE

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has assured personnel of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 90 of his commitment to improve their welfare.

He made this remark when he held a durbar with troops on  Wednesday 22 May, 2024 at the GHANBATT Headquarters, in Lebanon.

Lt Gen  Oppong-Peprah updated troops on the development projects and security issues in the GAF and Ghana respectively, and also commended the battalion for the high standards of professionalism exhibited over the period.

He further seized the opportunity to inspect damages from the Israel-Hamas war, and interacted with troops at various battalion positions at their Area of Responsibility.
