The newly-appointed Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) –Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has paid a visit to the Naval Headquarters, as part of his maiden visits to various Services, Formations, and Units of Ghana’s military.
Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah, who assumed the prestigious role earlier this month was received to the Naval Headquarters on Thursday 15 February 2024, at the Naval Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra, by the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of GAF – Rear Admiral (R/Adm) Issah Adam Yakubu, the Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Ghana Navy – Commodore (Cdre) Prosper Modey, and other Staff Officers of the Navy.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, the CDS thanked Officers, Men and Defence Civilian Staff for the support, well wishes and prayers for him, since his assumption of command as the CDS.
The CNS on his part, introduced his Staff Officers to the newly appointed CDS, congratulated and wished him well on behalf of personnel of the Ghana Navy, and assured the CDS of the unwavering support of the Ghana Navy.

Members of the CDS’ entourage included the Chief of Staff (COS), General Headquarters – Major General (Maj Gen) Joseph Prince Osei-Owusu; Deputy COS, Administration – Air Vice Marshal Michael Appiah-Agyekum; DCOS, Policy and Plans – Maj Gen DYA Nyarko and other Senior Officers at the General Headquarters.
