GAF COAS COMMISSIONS FACILITIES AT 10 MECH BN

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Major General (Maj Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona has commissioned dog kennels and other facilities at 10 Mechanized Battalion (10 Mech Bn), Wa, in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

In an address during the brief ceremony, on Thursday, 22 February 2024, the COAS indicated that it was a great honour for him to inaugurate the newly constructed kennels by the German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG), to create a secure and cozy space for the military dogs, to aid in Internal Security and Counter Insurgency Operations.

The COAS, seizing the opportunity to urge all personnel to remain loyal and committed to the success of GAF, stated that the establishment of the kennels would further enhance the strong partnership between Ghana and Germany, and that a well-maintained kennel contributes to the overall effectiveness of all operations.

The Second In-Charge of GAFTAG – Captain Thomas Henry, expressed his appreciation to the Ghana Army, and acknowledged the significance of the facility, in enhancing the capabilities of the GAF.
