Following recent increase in military operations in certain parts of the north, as a result of resurgence of violence, Northern Command (N/COMD) has received logistics support from the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Ghana Army – Major General (Maj Gen) Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, as part of his continued support to troops deployed at Bakwu and Walewale.

The equipment received on Friday 8 November 2024, at the Headquarters (HQ), N/COMD by its General Officer Commanding (GOC) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Frank Nartey Tei, included Armoured Vehicles, Quad Bikes, Helmets, Fragmentation Jackets, mattresses, among others.

The GOC, on receipt of the equipment, expressed his appreciation to the COAS, and stated that the release of the equipment is a manifestation of the unflinching support by the Military High Command (MHC), to create a safe environment in Bawku for people to live.

He added that, the logistics provided will go a long way to increase operational efficiency, in response to emerging security challenges and complex threats in the area.

The GOC charged troops to ensure that the items are used efficiently, effectively with regular maintenance, to prolong their service life, and also assured Ghana’s MHC and the general public that the troops will continue to work professionally, to support civil authority’s effort at maintaining law and order in Bawku and its environs.
