Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in partnership with the JOSPONG GROUP of Companies, has officially launched the maiden edition of the Jospong Next Generation Military Orientation Training Course 1-25 at the Army Training Command (ATRAC).

The four-week programme, which commenced at ATRC, Teshie, on Monday 8 September 2025, is designed to equip the first cohort of 36 trainees, with essential skills and knowledge, to enhance their effectiveness in driving the company’s vision of expanding across the African continent.

Speaking at the launch, the Commander, ATRAC – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Joshua Amanor, said the training offers a holistic package that goes beyond military drills, to combine practical skills, such as personal security awareness, first aid, soft skills such as emotional intelligence, stress management, and leadership.

He emphasized that success in today’s global business environment requires young trainees to possess both resilience and adaptability, since they would be representing Ghana and the JOSPONG brand internationally.

The course will be delivered by ACTS, under the leadership of Colonel Robert Narh (Combat Expert One), and his team of seasoned Combat and Drill Experts, with a role to provide the participants with practical exposure to structured training modules.

They will also ensure that the Young Executives acquire discipline, confidence, physical fitness, and operational awareness applicable in both corporate and cross-cultural environments.

The Head of Jospong Academy – Brig Gen Mike Akpatsu (Rtd), clarified that the programme is structured to focus on personal development, time management, cultural orientation, and strategic thinking, and not a conventional military boot camp.

He noted that the performance of the first cohort would play a critical role in shaping the company’s expansion into over 25 African countries.
The Head of Human Resource, JOSPONG – Mrs. Nancy Fynn-Thompson, commended the initiative as a landmark step in strengthening the company’s human resource capacity, and thus encouraged the trainees to fully embrace the opportunity, stressing that the skills acquired will not only enhance their professional growth, but also position them to uphold Jospong’s core values of excellence, integrity, and innovation.

The maiden edition of the orientation course signals a new phase of collaboration between Ghana’s corporate society and the military, in developing disciplined, versatile, and forward-looking leaders, capable of competing on the global stage.
