A Senior Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Colonel (Col) James Bugbillah Sabia, has donated a Cough Assist machine, and accessories to the GAF Critical Care and Emergency Hospital (GAFCCEH).
Col Sabia, who made the presentation to the hospital on Monday 7 October 2024, said the gesture was in recognition of the vital role GAFCCEH plays as a strategic national asset.
He said the new facility needs to be assisted to operate fully, to provide the nation with the required high-level medical care.
Receiving the medical gifts, the Commander, GAFCCEH – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Evelyn Vivian Abraham-Kwabiah expressed appreciation to Col Sabia, and commended him highly for his patriotic gesture.
She noted that it is not the first time Col Sabia and his wife have extended such a donation to GAF’s Medical Corps.
She recalled that the couple sponsored the child-friendly paintings at the Paediatric Wards of the 37 Military Hospital, and assured him that the equipment would be put to good use.
Further, she used the opportunity to appeal to other personnel and corperate institutions to emulate Col Sabia’s noble gesture, to support the GAFCCEH in any way possible, to make the facility a centre of excellence, in the West African Sub-region and beyond.
GAFCCEH was set up to provide critical and specialized care, and the provision of dialysis care, training in emergency response and research.
