The family of a former 66 Artillery Regiment Commanding Officer – the late Colonel (Col) Ekow Jones (Rtd), led by Major General Coleman (Rtd), have invited the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah to assist them bid farewell to their beloved former soldier.
The family made the plea when they visited General Oppong-Peprah on Tuesday, 17 September 2024 at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, in Accra.

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah assured the family of GAF’s support in giving late Colonel Jones (Rtd) a dignified farewell, for his exemplary service in establishing the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho, when the time is due.
Late Col Ekow Jones (Rtd) was a pioneering figure in the 66 Artillery Regiment, established on 16 April 1966, to provide fire support to the Ghana Army. His vision and leadership played a crucial role in shaping the Regiment into what it is today.
