The annual Security Services National Day of Prayer was observed by Ghana Armed Forces’ 7 Garrison Units, with the aim to bring together personnel of the security services, to pray for Ghana’s 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential Elections, to be peaceful, and for the leadership of the country.
The theme for the event, which was held on Thursday 19 September 2024, at the St Ignatius Catholic Church at the Volta Barracks, Ho, in the Volta Region, was: Pray for the well-being of Ghana and it shall be well with you.

In an opening remarks by the Commanding Officer (CO), 66 Artillery Regiment (66 Arty Regt) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jalali Din Ibrahim, he indicated that the gathering signified the Security Services’ collective commitment to ensuring peace, unity and stability in the country.
He continued that as there are crucial months ahead, it is imperative that they pray for wisdom for their leaders, peace for the communities, and safety of all those entrusted with maintaining law and order.

He concluded by welcoming all to the gathering to witness the unity of faith where both Christian and Muslim prayers were offered and hoped that the prayers will serve as a beacon of hope and peace for the entire nation.
The Guest of Honour for the occasion, and Oti Regional Minister – Mr Daniel Machator, encouraged all to reflect on the significance of peace and stability since, it is the foundation upon which development is built, and stability allows for growth and progress in every sphere of their lives.

He continued that as they prayed for the safety of all security personnel and leaders that will emerge from the electoral process, they should commit themselves to upholding the values of democracy and peaceful coexistence.
The 7 Garrison National Day of Prayer was well graced by the Commanders and personnel of sister security services in the Volta and Oti Regions.
