GEN ONWONA RECEIVES NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD ADJUTANT GEN

The Adjutant General of North Dakota National Guard of the United States of America (USA) – Major General (Maj Gen) Alan Dohrmann has called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Maj Gen Bismarck Kwasi Onwona at the Army Headquarters.

The visit on Friday 23 February, 2024, amongst other things, was to discuss and strengthen the already existing bilateral relationship between USA Department of Defence (DoD) and the Ghana Army.

The Adjutant General was welcomed by the COAS and his Staff Officers to the Army Headquarters, where a closed door meeting was held, and subsequently, a reception was held at the Forecourt of the Odartey-Wellington Block, in honour of the Adjutant General.

The North Dakota National Guard is headquartered at the Fraine Barracks in Bismarck, North Dakota, and consists of the 68th Troop Command, and the 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, which is headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota.

The US Army National Guard is a part-time state-based military component that serves under the command of their state.

Maj Gen A Dohrmann was appointed Adjutant General of the North Dakota National Guard by Governor Jack Dalrymple in October 2015, and commands nearly 4,100 North Dakota Air and Army National Guard men and women, with approximately 1,100 full-time federal and state employees, and oversees state and national missions.

He also serves as Director of the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, which is comprised of the Division of Homeland Security and the Division of State Radio Communications.
