GEN OPPONG-PEPRAH ROUTINELY VISITS SICK SOLDIERS

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Major General (Maj Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has sustained his routine welfare visit to soldiers at the 37 Military Hospital (37 Mil Hosp), and Arakan Barracks, Burma Camp, to enable him personally ascertain the extent of care received by the soldiers, and also wish them speedy recovery.

On Friday, 8 September 2023, he visited two soldiers at the Edith Tamakloe Ward, 37 Mil Hosp, who had sustained injuries due to road traffic accident, whiles serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Ghana Battalion 89, early 2023.

The COAS also paid attention to a Naval Rating and a retired soldier who were also on admission at the ward, and donated some cash amount to each of them, to support their upkeep and help relieve them of some of their financial burdens.

Maj Gen Oppong-Peprah commended the medical staff, led by the Officer-in-Charge of Neuro Surgery – Captain (GN) S Adjei-Adjetey for their diligence and professionalism in delivering quality healthcare to soldiers, to ensure they get well soon to continue serving their nation.

The COAS was accompanied by the Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Army Headquarters (AHQ) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Barima Brako Owusu; Deputy Chief Staff Officer, Administration (DCS0, Admin) – Brig Gen Emmanuel Baidoo Acheampong; the Chief G4 – Colonel (Col) JKN Amenyah; Chief G3 – Col J Danso-Ankrah; Service Financial Comptroller, Army – Col Miki Nkrumah; and the Sergeant Major of the Army – Senior Warrant Officer 1 (SWO1) Dormaah TR.
