GEN OPPONG-PEPRAH VISITS GHANA’S HIGH COMMISSION IN NIGERIA AHEAD OF AFRICA MIL GAMES

Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, led a delegation to visit Ghana’s High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, as part of the activities leading up to the Opening Ceremony of the All Africa Military Games in Abuja.

During the visit on Wednesday November 20, 2024, Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah met with Vice Admiral (V/Adm) Seth Amoama (Rtd) – his predecessor, and currently Ghana High Commissioner to Nigeria, as well as the High Commission staff.

V/Adm Amoama warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing his delight and optimism for the GAF contingent competing in the games, and wished them outstanding performance and numerous medals.

In response, Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah thanked Admiral Amoama for hosting the team and the delegation.

He expressed confidence in the GAF team’s ability to replicate the successes chalked in the African Games in Accra, and pledged his full support to the team.

This visit also highlights the strong ties between Ghana and Nigeria, particularly in defence and security cooperation.

In the GAF delegation was the Chief of the Naval Staff – Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu Yakubu, and Principal Officers of the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra.
