A delegation from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), led by its Deputy Administrator –Mr Alhassan Sualihu Dandaawa, has visited the proposed site for the National Defence University (NDU) headquarters at Teshie Ridge.
Brigadier General Emmanuel Opare Nyante, representing the President of NDU, Air Vice (AVM) Marshal Felix Adom Asante, led the delegation on Friday, 20 June 2025, to the site to gain firsthand information in preparation for the commencement of construction.
The inspection follows a recent visit by the Chief of the Defence Staff, Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) – Lieutenant General William Agyapong, to the GETFund Administrator – Mr Paul Adjei, during which he pledged GETFund’s support for NDU, and affirmed its readiness to support educational initiatives within GAF.
The Ghana Armed Forces received the Presidential Charter on Thursday, 19 December 2024, to establish the National Defence University (NDU), granting it autonomy as an institution.
The Presidential Charter designates the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, the National College of Defence Studies, the Ghana Military Academy, and the Training and Doctrine Command as constituent Colleges of the NDU.
