GHANA AIRPORT HANDS OVER OLD AIRPORT TERMINAL TO AIR FORCE

The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) has handed over the old Airport Terminal in Tamale to the Air Force Base (AFB), Tamale, and donated some equipment to the Base to equip the Ghana Air Force (GHF), as part of the airport properties.

Receiving the facility on Wednesday February 7, 2024, the Base Commander, AFB, Tamale – Air Commodore (A/Cdre) Joshua Mensah-Larkai expressed appreciation to the management for the facility, and assured that the facility would be operated by International Military Aviation Standards, to improve security and customer satisfaction.

A/Cdre J Mensah-Larkai stated that, the steady growth of the GACL, and other stakeholders in Tamale, has been made possible by the steady partnership with the AFB, Tamale.

The Guest of Honour for the event – Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, who is the newly appointed Managing Director, GACL, said that the move was a step in the right direction to ease the office space of the Air Force.

Mrs Afriyie Opare mentioned that the handing and taking over ceremony, portrays the long standing relationship that has existed between the AFB and the GACL.
Present at the ceremony included the Northern Regional Minister – Mr Alhassan Shani Shaibu; 6 Garrison Commander – Major General Matthew Kweku Essien, and other board members of the GACL.
