In a joint effort, the Headquarters Central Command (C/COMD) of the Ghana Army and the United States Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) conducted a three-week training course for personnel of the Command to significantly enhance their professional skills and capabilities and prepare them for any crisis situation.

The training program which spanned Monday 24 June to Friday July 12 2024, at the 4 Infantry Battalion training area, had participants from various units within the C/COMD, including the Headquarters C/COMD Camp, 3 Infantry Battalion, 4 Infantry Battalion, 87 Signal Regiment, 154 Armoured Regiment and some detached Units.

The comprehensive training programme covered a wide range of topics, such as training the trainer, tactical combat casualty care, weapon training, and range work.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), C/COMD – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Michael Kwadwo Opoku, expressed his gratitude to the United States SFAB for their continued support and assistance to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

He urged the participants to take the training seriously and share their newfound knowledge with their colleagues, and stressed that well-trained soldiers have a better understanding of circumstances and can effectively handle any situation without causing alarm.

The Team Leader of the SFAB group – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Joseph Fritze, thanked the Military High Command for the ongoing partnership with the SFAB, and encouraged the participants to remember every aspect of the training they had received, stating that his team had also learnt a lot from the interaction.
