The Ghana Army Recruit Training School (ARTS), under the aegis of the Army Training command (ATRAC), has held an Induction and Thanksgiving Service, for its new Commanding Officer (CO) – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Ambitious Nazzar.
The ceremony was held at ARTS, Shai-Hills, in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, on Sunday 23 March 2025, under the theme: “Divine Assurance” with the Commander, ATRAC (CATRAC) – Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Stephen Woseadzikpo Kweku Parbey as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking under the theme, the CATRAC said of the significance of the service that, as believers in the God factor of life, it is right to seek the face of Almighty God, at the threshold of every important stage in life.
He further affirmed earlier sermons in the service by the Christian and Islamic clerics that those who rely on the love of God are assured, strengthened, helped, and upheld by His power, and that the purpose of the service, is to ask Almighty God to guide and bless the new CO, for the task ahead.
Praying that the Most High God would grant the CO the values of duty, honour, integrity, compassion, courage and service, General Parbey urged Lt Col Nazzar to lead ARTS with integrity and commitment, inspire the troops entrusted to his command, and to uplift the image of not only the School, but also the Ghana Army.
Lt Col Nazzar expressed gratitude to the Chief of the Army Staff and the Military High Command for the confidence reposed in him to lead ARTS.
He further stated that over the past weeks, he had engaged traditional leaders, heads of the various security agencies in the precincts of the school, friends and members of the Unit, hence affording him the opportunity to listen and also communicate the Unit’s core values, such as troops’ welfare, respect for one another, initiative, professionalism and discipline.
