GHANA ARMY’S 16 ARTY BRIGADE COMMANDER VISITS ARTY UNITS AT 7 GARRISON

The Acting Commander, Ghana Army’s 16 Artillery Brigade (16 Arty Bde) – Colonel Selorm Amengor, and an entourage of Senior Officers of the Army, paid a 3-day working visit to the 66 Artillery Regiment (66 Arty Regt), and the Artillery Training School (ATRS), to engage troops on the formation of new Artillery Units.

Another purpose of the tour – which was from Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 September, 2024 – was for the Commander and Senior Officers to conduct reconnaissance on the 16 Arty Bde’s Area of Operation.

Upon arrival, the entourage were firstly briefed by the Commanding Officer (CO), 66 Arty Regt – Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Jalali Din Ibrahim, and the CO, ATRS – Lt Col Patrick Aturi.

In a durbar with troops, Col S Amengor commended troops for their hardwork and dedication to the Regiment, enlightened them on the formation of the 67 and 68 Artillery Regiments, and the development of respective logos to distinct their identities, urging troops to come on board the endeavour, to help achieve a common goal for the betterment of the Artillery fraternity.

The entourage then inspected some developmental projects in the Units, and later called on the Volta Regional Minister, and Members of the Volta Regional Security Council.

Col Amengor’s entourage included the Deputy Brigade Commander – Col George Dottey; Chief, G3 – Col Ebenezer Nii Laryea Odumang; CO, 67 Arty Regt – Lt Col Said Suraj; CO, 68 Arty Regt – Lt Col Larry Kwesi Boateng; and 16 Arty Bde General Staff Officer 1 – Lt Col Felix Opoku.
